The Doctor’s Dilemma opens 17 July
Disturbingly funny and psychologically incisive, Bernard Shaw’s The Doctor’s Dilemma takes on, with an irreverent glee, the dubious ethics of the men who play God.
Harley Street doctor Sir Colenso Ridgeon’s revolutionary tuberculosis treatment is restricted to ten selected patients. Will he decide, along with his colleagues, to save the husband of the lovely Jennifer Dubedat? But, once they have decided to treat the talented artist a colleague becomes in need of the treatment also.
Dilemma – who decides who will live and who will die? Indeed does anyone have the right to make the decision?

Following a sell-out season in the Cottesloe last year, the groundbreaking London Road returns for a strictly limited season in the Olivier this summer.
The production documents the events of 2006, when the quiet rural town of Ipswich was shattered by the discovery of the bodies of five women. Adam Cork’s music uses the melodic speech patterns captured on Alecky Blythe’s recorded interviews with the people of Ipswich to create this extraordinary work.
